LG StanbyME 2 Max is now official as LG’s biggest movable screen yet. The pitch is clear: a 32-inch 4K touchscreen on a floor stand. It can also detach for tabletop use and keep playing for up to 4.5 hours on battery. LG says the new model, 32LX6BWGA, is available for preorder at LG.com for $1,299.99.
That price puts the StanbyME 2 Max in a strange but interesting lane. It is not trying to be a cheap portable monitor. It is not just a normal smart TV on wheels either. Instead, LG is selling a home screen that can follow the user. The target rooms include bedrooms, kitchens, patios, workout corners, and desk setups. However, at $1,300, the convenience has to be the reason someone buys it.
A Bigger 4K StanbyME
The biggest upgrade is the screen itself. LG says the StanbyME 2 Max has a detachable 32-inch 4K full touchscreen. That is a major jump from the earlier StanbyME idea that helped define this movable-screen category in 2021. The included floor stand lets it roll into a room. Meanwhile, a one-click stand supports tabletop positioning when the display is removed.
For people tracking portable screens more broadly, this sits at the lifestyle end of the category. That same market also includes traditional mobile display hardware, such as the UGREEN AP16 portable monitor. The LG version is larger, smarter, and more living-room focused. That also explains why it costs so much more.

Battery, Ports, And webOS
LG lists up to 4.5 hours of cord-free playback. However, the company notes that actual battery time depends on network conditions and app use. Additionally, USB-C support allows external battery charging. LG says the battery backup is not included and requires 65 watts of power.
The StanbyME 2 Max also includes HDMI and USB ports. As a result, it can work with laptops, game consoles, mobile devices, and IPTV boxes. Meanwhile, TV Mirroring can put content from a phone, tablet, or computer on the screen. That keeps the product from feeling like a plain monitor.
The software side is familiar LG territory. The display runs webOS with major streaming apps and more than 400 free LG Channels. It also adds LG Gallery+ for ambient display use. LG says that art platform includes more than 5,000 works. Tech My Money has followed LG’s smart TV software path for years, including the older move to bring webOS further into LG’s TV platform. Here, that same smart-TV DNA is being pushed into a portable household screen.
AI Picture, Touch Apps, And The Price Question
Inside, LG uses its Alpha 8 AI Processor Gen3. It adjusts picture and sound based on content and room conditions. The company also lists Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, side-firing speakers, AI Sound Pro, and AI Brightness Control. Those features matter because this screen is meant to move often. It may go from a bright room to a quiet corner or shared space in the same day.
The touchscreen is also part of the appeal. LG includes Let’s Draw, Mood Maker, and built-in games. The list includes Memory Game, Million Marble, Spot the Difference, and Chess. Therefore, the StanbyME 2 Max is closer to a shared home tablet than a conventional television. Still, the app ecosystem starts from TV software.
Still, the $1,299.99 preorder price is the hard part. Buyers can get excellent TVs, monitors, tablets, or projectors for less money. However, few alternatives combine all of LG’s pieces in one package. This has a 32-inch 4K touchscreen, battery power, a stand, webOS streaming, and detachable placement. That makes the LG StanbyME 2 Max a niche product. It is also a sharper version of the niche LG has been building for several years.
